Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project

CONTRACT INCEPTION MEETING WITH THE CONSULTANT FOR COMMUNICATION AND VISIBILITY OF THE ABIDJAN LAGOS CORRIDOR HIGHWAY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Communication and visibility are an integral parts of the components of the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Development project. For the implementation of this component, the ECOWAS Commission contracted Moriah Trust Limited; an international strategic communications and development consulting firm to prepare a detailed Communication Strategy and Plan for the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project as well as develop communication tools and implement communications activities in line with the visibility requirements of the European Union and African Development Bank.

The main goal of this assignment is to ensure adequate communication and project visibility among the key stakeholders regarding all activities of the project. It also aims at attracting potential investors for the construction phase of the highway.

The ECOWAS Commission after a professionally coordinated and transparent selection process contracted Moriah Trust Limited for this assignment and signed the contract on the November 16, 2021,

The contract will be carried out over a 24-month period in two seamless phases. Services under Phase one is scheduled to be completed within four (4) months from commencement and Phase two will cover the following twenty (20) months.

To kickstart the activities of the contract, an inception meeting was held on the 7th day of December 2021 between the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Abidjan Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project (ALCHDP) and Moriah Trust Limited. The meeting was attended by officials of the PIU namely: Engr. Chris APPIAH (Programme Officer Infrastructure Department) who represented the Commissioner for Infrastructure Mr. Pathe GUEYE and chaired the meeting, Engr. Mohamed SELMENE (Coordinator PIU), Dassi Paul HOUNHOUI (Francophone Road Engineer), Peter OFORI-ASUMADU (Anglophone Road Engineer) and Ibrahime Kalil KAMARA (Procurement Specialist ECOWAS Commission). Also, from MORIAH TRUST LIMITED, Mr. David NWEDU (Managing Consultant/CEO), Oye Michael OYEWO (Director Communications), Ademola BADEJO (Graphic Designer), Evelyn O. ALIU (Project Accountant and Sam ULOKO(Videographer) attended.
